According to Mrs. Jimmy Parker, the current funeral home facility was built by Peanut Rice in 1948 as a residence for a Veteran who could not get a loan approved. Prior to the construction of the building, the property served as a cotton field. In 1949, Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Parker purchased the building and added several additional rooms and opened the Parker Funeral Home.
Harry Payne bought the funeral home from Mr. & Mrs. Parker in December of 1969 and operated the business until December of 1975. Billy White of Parker-White Funeral Home then purchased the funeral home and continued operating the business until Jerry Hartley of Hartley Funeral Home took over in September of 1983. In July of 1994, Walter Mills of Hicks Funeral Home bought the funeral home. Walt, with the help of Jerry and Tara Taylor, operated the funeral home until it was sold to Rollings Funeral Service.
Over 50 years later, the staff of Calhoun Falls Funeral Home is
proud to continue the tradition of committed service in Calhoun Falls and the surrounding area.
We honor our legacy and vow to provide every family that calls upon us
dedication and compassion in their time of need.
